The T-34 “Mentor” became the military training aircraft following World War II. Today it remains in service as the T-34C Turbo Mentor as a turbo-prop trainer for the United States Navy and Marine Corp. Annually the Air Force Association Palm Springs co-sponsors with the Palm Springs Air Museum, a fly-in of T-34’s for a weekend of formation flying with ‘Mentors” from around the region.
